Today is the launch of the Protect NC Families First in Fight Money Bomb. The goal is to raise $50,000 this week in a huge push to reach $1,000,000 by the end of March for the campaign to protect all families and defeat Amendment One!
The more money we raise, the more money we have to spend on television, newspaper, and radio ads to inform our neighbors on the harms of Amendment One. If the final push in NC is anything like it has been in other states, we will see massive amounts of media buys in the final days leading up to the vote on May 8.
Our opposition may even use scare tactics to push their cause. In California, they went as far as lying to voters about the true impacts of Proposition 8 - telling Californians that voting against Prop 8 would lead to kindergarteners being introduced to sex education. Just this past weekend, Vote For Marriage NC began running an ad full of lies about same sex families and urging voters to vote for the discriminatory measure - the lies are already starting.
We must work now to ensure we have the funds necessary to spread the word of the true harms of Amendment One. Succeeding on May 8 is a possibility, but we need funds to continue the strong work Protect NC Families has already started.

Let me be blunt. This is not a vote on gay marriage, it’s about limiting personal freedoms and stripping personal rights.

While talking with students that are a part of Forestview High School’s Gay Straight Alliance today, many asked if we were on tumblr or if we could start a tumblr page for them to follow.

Well, they asked, and we listened!
